The Thousand Buddha Temple is located on nearly 6 acres of land in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Temple will feature a spacious shrine room, or Gompa, graced by 1,000 statues of Shakyamuni Buddha. These statues represent all the Buddhas that will appear in this cosmic eon. Each statue was painstakingly crafted by Buddhist lay people across the U.S. over a period of 10 years. Every dollar you donate goes directly to the construction and completion of the Thousand Buddha Temple. Your donation enables you to become a part of the Temple’s future, helping to bring peace and happiness to many.

A list of donors is displayed at the Temple. Donations are tax deductible, as the Thousand Buddha Temple is a registered 501(c)(3) corporation.

Sponsor Buddha Statues

A $1,000 donation will sponsor one of a thousand Buddha Shakyamuni statues that will bless the Thousand Buddha Temple. By sponsoring a Buddha statue, you bring blessings to yourself and your family, and you accumulate immeasurable merit as the Temple will provide an inclusive community for all to practice Buddhism. Your donation will be used to build the new Gompa (shrine room). The name of the person to whom the statue is dedicated will appear on a plaque to be permanently displayed in the new Gompa
